Neuroscience tells us that what fires together, wires together.

When our brain cells communicate frequently, the connection between them strengthens every time they connect. Each time this happens the transmission time gets faster and faster until it becomes almost automatic. This brain functionality can be very beneficial when you're trying to learn a new dance step, but if you're frequently stressed out, irritable, or have an unhealthy addiction to technology, this built-in, auto-response function can work against you.

Spending time in nature can help soften those over-worked neural circuits, quiet the mind and soothe the spirit for increased relaxation, cognition and well-being.

Leave the devices at home and join us for this two-hour forest immersion at the always inspiring Lake Fairfax Park. Through a series of sensory-opening invitations we’ll slow down, quiet the mind and breathe in the natural world for deep relaxation and wellness. You’ll leave feeling soothed, centered and more intimately connected with yourself and the world around you.

Forest bathing is a gentle activity accessible for most fitness levels. Over the course of two hours we will walk on a forest trail at a very slow pace for no more than a quarter of a mile. It is a great experience for couples, family members, friends and small groups.
